Girl, you're tripped up by being stuck “in your feelings"

When it comes to your nutrition, you value FEELING IT OUT and make decisions that are rooted in prioritizing the health of your relationships, because you want your decision to “feel right” and serve those around you, too.

Other people may be willing to abandon their relationships to achieve their weight loss goals - but not you.

You NOTICE how your community would be impacted by the habit changes you want to make… although sometimes you care too much about what others’ think when it comes to your results or you worry that your personal goals are leaving you too little time to tend to others.

You have a natural ability to MAKE OTHERS FEEL SEEN in your ability to bring us our favorite treat or ask us to meet you for dinner when you know we’ve had a bad day.

 

You understand that your heart is the most POWERFUL tool in your arsenal

 That said… because you care so much about being accepted by your community, you also have the tendency to let the needs and opinions of other people triumph over your own.

You may have the best laid plan for meal prep or taking a walk... but the minute someone needs you, you drop your goals in an instant.

Tell me… how many times has your bag of spinach rotted in the refrigerator drawer because someone needed something and you never got to cooking that Instagram recipe you saved?

Your own desire to connect with others can be your worst enemy in these cases... causing you to distance yourself from your ultimate weight loss, health & body goals.

 

Learning to use your feelings with intention instead of letting them run the show in every minute of every day is the very thing you need to get the weight loss you’ve been desperate to achieve. 

 

Your homework to start combating this tendency as a "heart type":

  1. Next time you’re going out to eat with friends, I want you to pick the restaurant to go to - instead of deferring the choice to someone else, worrying about whether other people will like it, or thinking about what your pick says about you in the eyes of others. 

  2.  Instead of thinking about this as an emotional decision, I want you to use your mind to choose a restaurant that will work for your own health goals, instead of sacrificing them in the moment.

  3.  You spend so much time as a heart type worrying about others. I challenge you to give yourself permission to put YOUR needs first. I’m sure you’ll find that others are happy to support you in that mission.

Hi I'm Coach JuliA!!

Ever felt like you're crushing it in every area of your life... except when it comes to food and your body? That was totally me after COVID hit.

There I was in 2020, about 10 pounds heavier after lockdown, freshly single, and desperately wanting to feel good in my jeans again. Sound familiar?

So I did what any determined person would do—I hired a macro coach. 

I remember the day so clearly—September 8th. I poured my heart out in this long message, confessing all my food "sins"...

"Look, I never stick with diets past 8 weeks...

I get these intense cravings for sweets...

tell me I 'can't' have something and it's ALL I think about...

oh, and I'm definitely not giving up my margaritas!"

I was so hopeful. This was going to be different! 

Finally, someone would give me the missing piece to make this all click.

But guess what happened instead?

The same old story played out. 

Restriction. Obsessive tracking. Weekend "slip-ups" followed by my coach just... cutting my macros even more. For 14 weeks I tried to force myself into this box that simply wasn't made for me.

You know that moment when you think, "I'm too smart to be this bad at weight loss"? ... Yeah, I lived there.

So what did I do after firing my coach? 

Something crazy—I became obsessed with solving this puzzle. 

Not just for me, but for all of us who feel this disconnect.

Here's where things get interesting...

After becoming certified as both a macro coach AND an integrative health coach, I stumbled into a mentorship with someone who specialized in mindful eating. And suddenly, the fog lifted. The missing piece revealed itself.
