Does consistency require perfection?

Jun 05, 2024

Let me guess…

You want to get consistent?

But in your head, you really feel like you have to be PERFECT to be consistent?

So every time you aren’t perfect, you decide you just can’t handle it… and you give up again until next Monday?

What if… consistency didn’t look like perfect?

➡️ What if consistency was doing a thing just 3 times in a month? (Who says all habits have to be weekly?)

➡️ Or what if consistency wasn’t a certain behavior - but a continuous intent or effort? (For example - I want to fuel my body consistently, which means I can miss my protein target today and still be consistent with fueling my body)

Say it with me: SOMETHING is better than nothing when it comes to your health ‼️‼️

Here’s the big question:

Are you holding yourself to impossible standards of perfection?

And then giving up on *everything* you want to accomplish when perfection feels like too much?

It doesn’t have to be that way!!!

- Getting stronger

- Getting leaner

- Losing weight

- Being more active

- Being a better friend

- Developing a skill

- Practicing self compassion

⬆️ NONE of these things require perfection

But they do require:

♥️ resilience (like continuing after a bad day)

♥️ patience (like understanding that change takes time)

♥️ frequency (doing something more often helps us build the habit)

Is it time you redefined consistency for you?
