Shift to Shed:
An 8-week program for working moms who are ready to lose the weight for the LAST time
You've done everything βrightβ. So why does it still feel THIS hard?
Trying to lose weight isnβt a new project for you.
Youβve listened to countless podcast episodes on the importance of fiber and protein. You've saved at least 100 IG posts about the best workouts to burn maximum fat. Youβve followed Substack creators who share weekly meal ideas to try and get out of your rut.
And somehow, none of that has translated into actually feeling in control around food, and the weight staying off.
And even though you know what you're doing isnβt workingβ¦ you canβt help but be a little tempted to just hit βBUYβ every holiday when that popular macro coach puts her 1-time macro counts on sale again. (βMaybe this time, itβll be different,β your brain whispers)
Maybe this sounds familiar, too:
You've hit a goal weight before and felt more anxious keeping it than you did losing it, because gaining it back seems inevitable.
You've said "I'll start over Monday" more times than you can count, and every time you have less and less faith in yourself that youβll ever stick to anything.
You've caught yourself mid-decision, like right before the second cocktail or ordering dessert, and wondered if you were βenjoying a special occasionβ β¦ or just making an excuse.
You low-key resent the fact that you care so much - but also that itβs just so many things you have to juggle to get even the tiniest tiny bit of results (meal planning, prepping, waking up early, journaling, saying no to dessert, going to bed earlyβ¦ your head spins every time you consider βgetting back into itβ)
You WANT to want the healthy option⦠but when you're honest, the quinoa sounds so lame and you'd rather have the cheeseburger, and some part of you thinks that means something's wrong with you.
If you're really honest, part of you wishes you didn't have to learn moderation: you wish you could just wake up tomorrow and not even think about food anymore.
Because that would be so much simpler than the alternative: actually wanting the cookie, sometimes having it, sometimes not, and being at peace either way.
Extremes are simple.
And you don't have the capacity for complicated, not with everything else you already have going on in your life.
If this is you: :
youβre in the right place, and I have good news.
This isnβt a willpower or βwanting it bad enoughβ issue.
You've just never been taught the thing that actually changes behavior for GOOD: It's what you believe, underneath the behavior, before you ever even open the fridge.
Itβs what I call βBelief Before Behaviorβ
Here's what almost every diet gets backwards:
It starts with βthe planβ and hopes your brain eventually catches up.
But consistency doesn't start with action.
It starts with belief.
Every choice you make:what you eat, when you stop, whether you order the second drink, starts as a thought in your brain, usually long before it becomes a decision.
Which means if the thought doesn't change, the pattern won't either, no matter how good the meal plan is.
This isn't a new idea in psychology β it's the foundation of how real, lasting behavior change actually works. The problem is that almost no nutrition program is built around it. They hand you rules and macros and hope the mindset sorts itself out. It usually doesn't.
That's not a willpower gap, it's a sequencing problem.
Fix the sequencing, and everything else gets easier.
Why I Created This Method
And let me tell you: I dieted for over a decade. Almonds instead of Cheeze-its in 8th grade. Egg whites and Yoplait senior year of college.
I hired a macro coach in 2020 who, when I found myself up 10 lbs after working out more throughout COVID, who just decreased my calories further and told me to try harder.
But Iβd BEEN trying. And it wasnβt working.
I was too smart to be this bad at weight loss. Nothing added up.
Then one night in 2021, standing in my now-husband's Chicago apartment, with the smell of fresh focaccia filling the room, I had to make a choice: track the meal, OR actually be βthereβ for it. I chose to be there.
And I remember thinking: β how does anyone learn to eat like a normal person?
That question sent me back to school.
I got certified in macro coaching, integrative health, and mindful eating. And I realized the problem was never the macros or not βwanting it bad enoughβ.
It was the operating system underneath them: the belief that food was something to fear (even when I loved it so much!) and that I had to be constantly vigilant to make "good" and "bad" choices if I wanted to be a healthy person.
That realization became The Shift to Shed Methodβ¦ Not another set of rules, but the steps that finally helped me to release the rules, learn how to eat like a normal person, lose the weight Iβd fought with for years, and maintain it without THINKING about food all the damn time.
Now, I teach this same thing to my clients: a system for rebuilding the belief layer underneath your eating, so that the behaviors you want to NATURALLY do, stop feeling like a fight and start feeling like you.
Ever think βI just am the way I amββ¦
What if I told you that your beliefs are something you nurture⦠not nature.
Practiced thoughts arenβt permanent onesβ¦ theyβre just familiar.
This program walks you though how to actually shift them, so you can get consistent and finally make progress towards the body you want.
And this is how:
THE SHIFT TO SHED: 3-PART METHOD
β¦ delivered through 23 simple videos (~10 minute each) + a 40+ page workbook that are short & super implementable
(because hi! working mom of a newborn over here, I make these something I would be able to easily integrate)
Phase 1: Shift Your Beliefs
So you can stop white-knuckling through rules that were never built for your life, and start making decisions from your own values instead of someone else's.
Make decisions from what actually matters to you, not from guilt, rules, or what worked for someone else
Catch the exact thought that's driving a decision you regret, and get the tools to tackle it before it repeats
Test what actually works for your body, instead of guessing based on what worked for someone else
Understand why change feels slow at first, so you don't quit right before it clicks
Phase 2: Shift Your Behavior
So you can finally understand your hunger and build meals that actually satisfy you, physically and emotionally, instead of guessing.
Tell the difference between true hunger, emotional hunger, and a passing craving, in the moment, not just after
Build meals that actually satisfy you AND fits your goals, instead of "eating right" and still feeling unsatisfied an hour later
Understand macros without the overwhelm, and without needing to hit a perfect number every day
Track your food without it taking over your brain, accurate enough to trust, flexible enough for real life
Phase 3: Shift Your Body
So you can handle the moments that used to derail you completely (like, a bad meal, a vacation, a stressful week) without it turning into a spiral.
Bounce back from an off-track moment in hours, not weeks, without "starting over Monday"
Understand your relationship with emotional eating instead of continuing to tell yourself you have βtoo big of an appetite for a womanβ
Walk into a trip, a holiday, or a stressful week with a realistic plan already in place, instead of hoping willpower shows up
Graduate from dieting and into a way of eating that actually holds, without the fear of it all coming back (or the expectation that you think about food ALL the time)
Bonus Lessons
Understand the four other levers that shape your hunger, energy, and results
Learn why some reframes end up feeling like BS and how to reframe your thoughts in a way that you can actually believe them

Hi there!!
I'm Julia β a double-certified nutrition coach, the founder of Eat More with Julia, and the creator of The Shift To Shed Method.
I've worked with 200+ women who came to me exhausted from trying everything, starting over every Monday and still not feeling free around food.
I spent over a decade dieting before I built this program: restricting, "earning" my food, losing weight and gaining it back, hiring coaches who focused on βjust be disciplinedβ and nothing else.
What finally changed everything wasn't a better macro split.
It was realizing the beliefs driving my choices had to change first, before any plan could actually work for me longer than 6 weeks.
I, like most millennials, had a belief system about food, health and weight loss that had been built by the subconscious programming of Redbook Magazine covers and Slimfast ads in 1998 and never caught a break.
When I finally revisited the foundation that all my food decisions were built onβ¦ all I could think was βno wonderβ and I became hell bent on rewiring my brain to make decisions that didnβt keep me stuck and self-sabotaging.
That process became The Shift To Shed Method, and it's the same framework Iβve now used with the 100+ women I've coached: helping them lose weight FOR GOOD and finally feel like you like your body, without spending every special occasion mentally counting calories instead of being there for it.
We don't start with macros immediately. Phase one is entirely whatβs happening in your brain, because trying to install new behaviors on top of old beliefs is why most diets don't last. We have to cut off your inner mean girl before you can make a change that sticks.
We give you a tested process for finding your own answer, not someone else's rules. You're not guessing, and you're not blindly following instructions either. You're testing what actually works for your body, with a concrete set of tools that help you tell the difference between "this is working" and "this feels like itβs forced."
Bad days are expected, not treated as failure. Because every program assumes you'll be perfect, and this one assumes you're human.
We teach the transition out of dieting, not just into it. Most programs end at your goal weight. This one has a full phase dedicated to βwhat do I do to make this a lifestyle afterward without tracking forever?!β... the part almost nobody else teaches, and the part that determines whether this actually lasts.
Live coaching, not just recorded lessons. 4 live group calls where real questions get real answers, in real time. Plus, bi-weekly live recorded Q&A so you can get your questions answered in video-form.
Most nutrition programs teach you WHAT to eat.
The Shift to Shed Method teaches you HOW to decide what you should actually eat and rebuilds the belief system underneath your decisions, so your habits around food finally stick (and the weight stays OFF because of it)
Here's Why This Is Different:
π You stop fearing hunger and start understanding itβ¦ able to tell the difference between "I need to eat" and "I need something else" in the moment, not just after the fact.
β One βoff-trackβ meal stops meaning a whole week wasted. You have actual tools for the moment things go sideways, instead of spiraling into "I'll start Monday."
π You can sit down to your grandmother's homemade meal, or your friend's birthday dinner, and actually be there, without the whole night becoming a math problem in your head.
π You reach a weight loss or body composition goal and it feels like relief, not the beginning of a new kind of anxietyβ¦ because you've learned how to live in maintenance, not just how to lose weight
β You build actual self-trust in your brain and body, the kind you actually never thought youβd be able to have after years of mistrusting your hunger and cravings.
π You know how to track macros without it taking over your brain, and you know how to stop, too without gaining all the weight back.
Here's what's possible on the other side:

FAQs
-
Most programs start with a meal plan and hope your mindset follows. The Shift to Shed Method starts with the belief work first: the actual thing driving your decisions, so the nutrition education that comes later finally sticks instead of becoming one more rule you white-knuckle through.
-
This is a common starting point, and it's exactly why macros aren't taught until phase two (and why this works π): after you've already built the belief and permission work that makes tracking feel like information instead of a report card.
-
You're not alone in this, it's one of the most common things clients bring to coaching calls. Iβll help you find recipes that work for everyone at once. The program is built around real households, not a fantasy version of your life with unlimited time and a personal chef.
-
Not at all. You'll get a real, tested method, the same one used with 200+ clients, for finding out what works for your body. The difference isn't less structure, it's structure built around your own evidence, instead of a generic rule. Plenty of clients who describe themselves as "rule followers" find this is the first approach that finally sticks, precisely because it's not guesswork.
-
No. This is a nutrition and mindset program. The bonus lesson on sleep, steps, strength, and cardio explains why these matter for sustainable results, but you won't be handed a workout plan: that's intentionally outside what this program covers.

The Shift to Shed Method runs over 8 weeks. The pre-recorded content is about 30 lessons, roughly 10 minutes each: so about ~6 hours total, spread across the full 8 weeks, and you can go at your own pace within that. You'll also have 4 live coaching calls to attend or catch on replay.
As for actually doing the work: that's the best part. This isn't extra homework on top of your life. The exercises are designed to happen inside your real life: a pause before a meal, a few minutes of reflection after a tough moment, applying a tool in real time. Most weeks that's just 5β30 minutes, because the goal isn't to add more to your plate: it's to change how you're already moving through your week.
